Abstract
Eighteenth-century Collections Online (ECCO), from publishers Thomson Gale, is the world's most comprehensive digital library of eighteenth-century printed books. It includes almost 138,000 printed titles and editions published in the United Kingdom and the colonies between 1701 and 1800. ECCO has already been recognised as a resource with enormous potential in learning, teaching and research, and not only in subjects such as English literature and history, but also in a wide range of other subjects, such as philosophy, theology, the sciences, geography, and, as Andrew Pink observes, music.
