Abstract
This paper will seek to re-address the nature of the Scholarly Communications debate in the Arts and Humanities. It will do so by briefly examining the nature of that debate in Science, Technology and Medicine (STM) and then posit the nature of the discussion for Arts and Humanities. The paper will look at the nature of E-Books and questions around Intellectual Property Rights. It will address some of the issues in the Open Access debate and try to identify their significance for the Arts and Humanities communities. It will look briefly at the British Academy Report on E-resources for research in the humanities and social sciences, study the future of University Presses and look at some initial work in costing the long-term preservation of digital objects. The paper will then identify conclusions on the state of the Scholarly Communications debate in the Arts and Humanities.
