Abstract
This essay considers the usefulness of visiting the cinema of 1960s London, and by implication all films with a topographical premise, map in hand. My map of choice is a 1966 edition of the Geographer?s A to Z of London.1 My film of choice is Antonioni?s Blow-Up, though I have taken a comparative approach to its topography, consulting and discussing several others from the period.2 ?Swinging London? films have helped me calibrate the swing of Blow-Up, a work emblematic of London in the 1960s and central to the ciné-city canon. Blow-Up is, in this reading, the London film.
